DIY- For those who want to build a coffin for their loved one
Yes, you can build a coffin yourself, though we do recommend you have a helper.  Evergreen Coffin kits are flat packed (think Ikea) consisting of 6 pre-made panels that assemble easily.  Thirty minutes is about how long it will take you to have a beautiful coffin ready.  Our coffins are made with a mix of British Columbia pine and spruce with manilla hemp rope handles, all 100% biodegradable. There are no metals, plastic, plywood, finishes or toxic glues.   Follow the paper manual that comes with each kit to ensure your success. 
Building a coffin allows time for sacred rituals and ceremony, to say goodbye in your own way and helps to integrate loss.
